Birring NDE Center, Inc. provides NDT
Level III Services. These services are particularly useful for companies that perform NDT
inspection but do not have a full time NDT Level III. The Level III Services
include:
Establishing a NDT Program: Assist companies
to establish a NDT program under SNT-TC-1A or NAS410. We can help in the
creation of the written Practice, certification of technicians, recommending
equipment for laboratories.
Assignment of Level III: As an outside agency, companies can assign
us as their Level 3.
Write NDT Procedures: Assist companies in writing NDT procedures and well as reviewing NDT
procedures.
Review NDT Procedures: Reviewing NDT procedures to assure they
following the correct inspection process and comply with codes and
standards.
Conduct NDT Audits. We can conduct
NDT audits to make sure the NDT companies are conducting work in accordance
with required procedures.
Improving NDT Reliability . Mr. Birring provides management
consulting to corporations on identifying weak areas and improving processes
to increase NDE reliability
Witness Demonstrations. Demonstration of inspections is done to
qualify procedures and to assure that the procedures meet applicable codes
or standards, eg qualification to ASTM 2375, MIL 2154, API 5L, ASME Code
Case 2235 etc. These exercises are quite detailed as involve evaluation of
the entire test process to include probe selection, probe settings, scan
pattern, inspection volume coverage, calibration, qualification block
design, data acquisition, evaluation, repeatability, etc.
Interpretation of Codes: We assist
companies in interpretation of codes related to NDT.
NDT Engineering Studies: NDT engineering studies are conducted on
projects to make sure that the inspection does meet the engineering
requirements for flaw detection and sizing. This may involve interfacing NDE
capability with with engineering requirements from fracture mechanics and
ECA.
