• AUT Advisor to monitor and witness Automated UT on two subsea pipe lay barges in Sakhalin, Russia
• Developed test procedure to measure void content in carbon fiber composites
• Developed training programs for MT, PT, UT, ET, RT, VT, Phased Array as per ASNT SNT-TC-1A
• Reviewed over 300 NDT procedures for a major Oil Company
• Wrote NDT procedures for a range of applications in power, petrochemical, nuclear and space industries.

• Developed Ultrasonic Phased Array procedure for inspection of A625 welds in subsea piping
• Qualified Phased Array and TOFD systems for use of UT in lieu of Radiography

NDE Associates, Inc., Houston, 1994-present, President.
NDT Consultant to several Fortune 500 companies worldwide to include  ExxonMobil,  NRG Energy, Jacobs/NASA, BP, Shell Oil, Exxon Neftegas Ltd., (Sakhalin, Russia), Total (Europe), and Chevron.  Provide NDT Services to include (a) develop NDT techniques, (b) write procedures, (c) review procedures, (d) qualify procedures (e) qualify AUT and NDT systems, and (f) witness NDT inspections.  His current interest are in assessing NDT programs and making recommendations to improve NDT reliability.

Birring NDE Center, Inc., Houston, 2008-present, President.
Developed NDT Training programs for the Birring NDE Center. Conduct basic and advanced NDT training. 

Houston Lighting and Power Company, 1989-1994, Staff Engineer. Fully responsible for implementing the latest NDT technology for inspection of power plant components. These include boilers, steam turbines, condensers, feedwater heaters and piping systems. Implemented the state of the art automated ultrasonic and eddy current systems.

Southwest Research Institute, San Antonio, Texas, 1980-89, Group Leader. Developed and implemented inspection methods and systems for various applications that included measurement of corrosion, detection of underclad cracking, sizing of cracks, detection of hydrogen attack and measurement of wear. Developed software packages to store inspection data, and signal processing routines to analyze data. Some of the technology developed is currently being used by petrochemical plants and electric utilities.

Promoted programs with potential clients, wrote proposals, managed projects, prepared final reports and made presentations. Managed contracts for more than twenty five different US companies, traveled nationally and internationally and gained diverse experience in NDT methods.
